Executive Alliance's Annual Census of Women Board Directors in Maryland
Executive Alliance has been measuring the representation of women in the boardrooms of public companies based in Maryland for the last nine years. Through Executive Alliance, our members combine their energies in advocating the advancement of women to corporate boards of directors and executive suites.
In the U.S.A., the percentage of women directors in publicly held companies has hovered between 15 and 16 percent for close to 10 years. In 2012, the percentage in Maryland rose above 10 percent for the first time. Findings such as these emphasize the continuing importance of Executive Alliance’s mission and reaffirm our determination to work with other business leaders and institutions to increase the number of women in corporate leadership and board rooms.
While the number of women advancing to the c-suite and board rooms remains depressed, Executive Alliance remains committed to shifting this statistic in favor of women. It appears that the trend is improving. We encourage you to read the results of Executive Alliance’s 2016 Census of Women Board Directors in Maryland.
